Different damage types on weapon

if a have a weapon with “30 melee cold damage” and I use a melee Physical skill, then on hit with that skill the melee cold damage from weapon is still applied to target? ofcourse, will not benefit from e.g. “increased physicak damage” but will stil benefit from e.g. “increased melee damage” and still aplied by the physical skill right?

No, it’s specific to “melee cold”. There are weapons with melee damage and melee physical damage, those are what you need to look for.

Correct.Travoas is confused.

The melee cold damage benefits from any % melee damage modifiers as well as any % cold/elemental modifiers. Regardless of the skill tags.

I tought the same, that I need melee damage and melee phys damage for weapon to use with hys skills, but read damage calculation explanation on Maxroll.gg, they say if you have melee phys damage on weapon and hit woth a fire skill, the phys damage is still applied to the hit(of course without fire damage multipliers). is a bit viceversa with my first example, but still the same idea. also, they say if use a kill modifier that “convert to fire” then rven phys portion damage from.weapon will be converted.

so cold portion of the damage will still be applied by phys skill right?

Yes, this is how it works.

Those conversion nodes are usually only converting the base damage, not all added damage, but it depends on the wording of the node (“all damage” versus “base damage”).

Yes, just not affected by any % phys modifiers.
