Denotating Arrow and Aimed Shot (which makes it a channel) seemed bugged with Coated Blades in Rogue passive tree which gives you more damage but adds a mana cost. It seems that Coated Blades node makes you pay mana before and after the arrow gets released.
Yeah, I think it’s coded as “using” the skill when you start the charge & again when you release it.
I hope this node is able to function with charged Denotating arrow. I wonder if it will be locked behind non-channeling abilities.
The tooltip makes no mention of it being a channel though so unless the devs say otherwise it’s a “charged up” mechanic. They do need to fix how it works though, since anything stack-based that buffs a hit could proc on the first “use” but not the second (which actually does the damage).
Well in the past, channeled abilities with nodes that had minus flat mana cost were not working properly. I know this because of a bug in elemental nova back in the day where you couldn’t use the flat mana reduction node and the channeled node at the same time. I am wondering if this is going to be the same case where because of mechanical issues they might just slap a “non-channeled” tag on that node.
Looks like Infused Discharge node in Detonating Arrow also does the same thing; makes you pay twice.
IMO, we could do with a “charged” skill tag to reflect what the node description for Aimed Shot says, and allow it to interact with the Shift node Velocity (& daughter-nodes) as well as Disembowel.
