Hello,
Trying to understand how some damage is dealt, and order of operations. Right now Im using Mantle of the pale Ox, 20% of damage taken is redirected to my highest health minion. Is this premitigated, first, or is this last on the list?
Im also using: Aspect of the Boar (Imp), 30%. If I use 2 idols that give increase boar effect at 12%, that makes it 30 x 1.24 = 37.2 damage reduced? Does it also give increased health regen of 50 x 1.24 = 62%?
Im also using Ursine strength (16% reduced dmg from nearby enemies). Is ânearbyâ within 10 meters? within 6 meters according to character sheet.
Also using cornered passive, 20% reduced damage when <35% health.
Assume 60% endurance. Is endurance the only one that doesnt work with ward? IE the others work alongside it? Do these all also work for DoTs?
Does all of this apply to a one shot? IE if a boss hits me for a billion damage and Im at 50% life, does endurance and cornered beast activate on the part of the hit that take me below those thresholds? or does it bypass the endurance and passive completely?
Are these all multiplicative? If so, would it be .8 (Chest) * .668 (Boar) * .86 (Ursine) * .8 (Cornered) = 36.76% Damage taken, even with ward? Then when ward is gone, endurance kicks in, so .3676 * .4 (Endurance) = 14.7% Damage taken? Does this also work for DoT?
I feel like Im missing something here. Standard defensives accounted for: Crit avoidance, Resists, Health>Armor>Dodge. Also using Last boots of the living for health to ward and to activate these. Please let me know anything Im not thinking of!
It shouldnât make a difference to you. Theyâre all multipliers. They might only make a difference on how much damage the minion takes.
But in principle, it should be applied last.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
The ones I didnât answer Iâm not sure, so Iâll wait for someone to answer them instead.
Thank you!! For the first question, I asked in case it starts nuking my minions, Ill look for the shared resist. if its getting applied last it would theoretically already be getting reduced with my resists, then further reduced with theirs. I guess the one thing I missed was frailty, with is the first thing applied Im guessing and what makes it so strong?
As Llama said, it doesnât matter. Theyâre all multipliers. AxBxC=AxCxB. The only thing that could matter would be sources of flat mitigation, which I think the game doesnât have.
Thank you guys for all the help. I see your names pop up on forum searches all the time, I was floored that you responded to my post at all
Are there any other sources of ânot dyingâ that Ive missed? Ive rolled my own character and it feels really strong so far, but Im now lvl 80 in HC and kind of stressing over it. Its my first character past 60ish.
Edit: Immortal Vise is planned but I havent made it there yet.
