Defense stacking

is there an item / build similar to Mourningfrost but for stacking strength/armor or some other way of double-dipping offense and defense?

It is not very good but Chronostasis fits that mold with ward attack speed, then gaining +1 melee physical per ten ward consumed. Only really usable in the high-end 10k+ ward builds. Since the penalty is consuming 500-2k ward

Shattered Lance set is the big one. The standard seems to be Druid/Spellblade since they are naturally “meant” to use melee cold damage.

Sunforged set seems meant to offer a similar sort of thing for the Sentinel, with a large pile of defensive and offensive benefits that scale with your number of Forged Weapons. Making the full set work looks kind of rough cause the chest is just a bit weak and 2H mace is a lame base which holds back the otherwise interesting affixes.

However I’ve found it works great if you use it “wrong” ie. a “two set” build with only a Sunforged Greathelm + the Shattered Lance set. The 60 flat health regen you get from the Sunforged helm is actually an insane amount, translates to about 600 health regen post-multipliers. Throw in a couple of other items and I’m getting 1100 health regen/1750% melee cold damage with growth potential to spare. Not to mention 166% increased armour from the helmet affix. You face some mild pains due to using cold on a class that wasn’t designed around it but that’s half the fun anyway.
