Just imagine a passive tree for Idols or … for the crafting system :))))) What do ye think?
i personally feel that the existence of content that requires high level of corruption warranting more player power.
as for passive trees for idols… not too much of a fan of that.
instead i would prefer if theres are new “general trees” which is shared by all classes. it can help specialize their class even more or help fix whatever theyre lacking.
it could even have weapon specific branches.
as for crafting system. i think the simplest way to encourage players to craft is by having a crafting faction.
crafting items and using crafting runes give faction reputation. crits give more. performing special crafting options such as making items legendary via LP or nemesis system also gives xp.
faction bonuses can be stuff like reduce stability used, etc or higher chance for crit etc.
this system will reward players who craft a lot and give players a reason to just “yolo craft”
certain ranks can require the player to perform certain tasks a number of times before unlocking.
The nice idea , too, a crafting faction+ crafting tree :)))
the reason why i specifically didnt mention tree is because factions give a bonus equal to all players. you achieve it, you get it. end of story.
crafting trees become a hassle and unnecessary because it will force players to respec their trees everytime they want to do something specific.
for example the tree passive could be “increased chance of rolling STR mod”, and other melee related mods.
but now you’re playing an INT build so you would spec out and respec. you will then realize that you’re constantly respeccing the tree non stop for different projects.
a faction grants static bonuses that we just live with and accept for better or for worse.
That would only work for chaos rolls, though. Otherwise you don’t have a chance of rolling STR, you just pick it and know that’s what you’re going to get.
yeah its just an example tho. the main intent is to highlight that crafting trees will end up just becoming an additional hassle and it will become more or less mandatory to always respec the tree everytime you want to craft something different/activity
