% Damage Reflected reduced by "less damage from distant sources"

The Rare enemy mod that reduces damage taken from distant sources (with the sphere around them indicating the range) appears to also reduce damage from “% of damage reflected” sources (e.g. Grand/Orante solar idols of Riposting, Reflective prefix on Shield/body armor).

My expectation was that reflected damage bypasses all defenses, including this rare mod.

I most easily see this with Diamond Matrons and Siege Golems whose big AoE attack will hit 8x Ring of Shields minions (who have ~140% damage reflection) and survive, whereas typically they would die almost immediately.
