Damage per second system on top of boss health bar, Same as Path of Exile 2.
Are you asking for a display of what the bossâ DPS is? If thatâs the case it would be highly dependent on your build as well as the boss itself. You could have a number of things that could change the DPS of the boss. What would be a good way to go forward with your suggestion in light of that?
He wants a counter that shows him how much DPS he is doing against a big baddy like in PoE2 where you have a DPS display at the top right corner of the enemys health bar.
Welp itâs a nice thing to see but I donât know if something like this is needed in LE.
Ah, ok. Thatâs why I asked b/c it wasnât clear. Nice? Maybe, Needed? Like you I donât think so.
+1
It could even be limited to certain high tier bosses (uberroth) or only visible on subsequent kills.
Part of what motivates the optimization chase is seeing the results.
So he wants something that the devs are dead set against? Though TBF, they were dead set against mastery respec, so
I get both sides of why one might want or not want thisâŚ
However, the existance of DPS estimates in (most) tooltips, is acceptance of the idea of giving us something numeric tune our bullds⌠As opposed to games that resist any numeric data at all, expecting the player to only use gameplay âfeelâ.
âŚso I donât understand the resistance to giving us the tool is trivial to code and yet wonât be erronous or miss skills like the current DPS tooltip estimates⌠namely some kind of target-received-DPS meter.
I personally think the boss-healthbar-dps meter is better and more engaging, as it requires players to engage with an actual boss encounter to see it⌠rather than when players can just access a DPS meter on a passive target dummy⌠However, both have their merits, and I would welcome having either one of them in the game. Given EHG sentiment, I think it would be excellent to just make it optional and have the setting off by default.
