Now that the launch of the first cycle is just around the corner I have been wondering.
If you intend to play CoF, what is the point of creating a cycle character?
For the trade faction cycles offer a reset of the economy, which is great.
But for CoF, creating a cycle character just means that I will have to redo the early game progression from scratch, and relevel CoF.
Personally, I much prefer the late game of LE compared to the early game, so I don’t see the appeal of restarting from scratch for no reason.
And let’s be honest here, I am not going to compete in the cycle leaderboard anyway.
Is there something that I am missing?
Is there going to be exclusive content in each cycle (much like PoE leagues)?
Reading the patch notes it does not seem to be the case, but I might be wrong.
The only real reason, for now, for playing a cycle is the fresh start and a shot at the leaderboards. Other than that, both legacy and cycle are the same, whether you go MG or CoF (since the economy will be new for both anyway, although legacy trade should kickstart faster).
The reset is the reason alone. I absolutely love going in fresh and with the new Solo Character Found Mode that got added back in I can do this on every single char.
Having to deal with what the game throws at me in terms of loot is what makes half of the fun for me early.
I don’t have any interest in revisiting chars that I previously played too much already and rather start a new one, evne if its the same or a very similar build.
