This qualifies as a general comment, but it is prompted by bone curse in particular. The bone curse “marker” is very hard to see on enemies, and therefore hard to tell when BC has expired so i find myself spamming the spell, unsure if it’s expired or if monsters were actually cursed, i.e. were in the AoE.
I agree it can be a bit hard to see sometimes, but there already is a visual queue for it. You can see the green icon over his head.
An improvement they could make here would be to snap it and center-justify it right over the health bar.
Then again, this might be the kind of thing they just haven’t gone around to yet. I’m sure they’d prefer to have more visual effects on the enemy models instead of just a floating icon.
At least it is not a bunch of icons attached below the health bar. This is the same problem PoE has with multiple curses and doomsday.
I think this game will run into a similar issue at some point. Figuring out an elegant solution for it now (or soon) would serve them well for the future.
Many of the ailment status and stun are equally in need of clearer presentation.
Is this symbol really ingame? I’m using Bone Curse in my build and I’ve never seem this icon over any enemy head. Or any other icon, for that matter.
Yes, that’s Mark for Death. There are numerous ways to apply it, from idols that give your minions a % chance on hit, a Necro passive that gives you a % chance to apply it on minion death, even Bone Curse has a node that allows you to apply it.
