Crazy fire damage

Hello devs.
Need nerf crazy damage from some fire monsters. For example: covenant of dominion. It damaged me for 5645 HP by 1 explosion. My character has 1834 HP, 68%+ of armour and 75%+ of fire resistance but your great c.o.d. said me: “Hello motherf*cker!” and oneshoted me. It was only 100 corruption. I think all adequate people understand that it’s not normal to get so much damage from that monsters with that defense.
And please don’t forget about the same situation with meteor of fire mages.

I don’t think that’s a 5k hit. It’s a 3.5k hit of which 2k were overskill. Meaning you mustn’t have been at full health (probably being damaged by the fire trails or something).
Also, you’ll note that’s a critical hit. You really need to invest into either reduced crit damge or crit avoidance (but not both).

Yeah, sadly, crit avoidance or crit damage reduced is absolutely mandatory.
I say sadly because I think it’s not good design to have a stat that critically important; and if you don’t have it (or if you’re new and not aware of its importance), you will have a bad time. Getting one-shotted is such a frustrating experience.

Also, I feel like you’ve maybe forgot about the modifiers of the echo you’re in. Is that possible that you have stacked some nasty ones without noticing ?

(By the way, jeeeeez those overcapped resists are crazy! And you need more block effectiveness or else, all those blocks affixes are not worth it. You’re probably aware and it’s a work in progress; I just gasped when I saw that :stuck_out_tongue: ). Good luck!

He has the Bulkwark shield (that drain 25% of current life each 3 seconds). He has leech but no regen, so when there is no monsters to leech, he’ll drop under the “high health threshold”.

Agree, there some more mobs that can instakill you off screen and that is poot desing imho :slight_smile: But that just me… I even opoened my own topic with listed worst enemies. Well you need to learn to try to play around all this shit. Walking speed helps a lot. One od the main defensive stat in LE LOL :wink:

As others have said, you got hit for 3.5k of which 2.1k was overkill so you only had 1.4k hp when you got hit which really isn’t much at all. The armour % is good, the block chance is decent but not having any form of blind or crit damage reduction/crit avoidance means you will get crit every so often & with that much hp, it’ll kill you (or leave you vulnerable to being killed by a sneeze from the next mob that looks at you).

While that particular mob does definitely hurt if it hits you with one of it’s 1-2 bigger hits, your Void Knight’s current set up is a bit on the squishy side.

I think that Covenant of Dominion’s growing circle attack comes out a little too fast or has slightly too broad of a hitbox or something. I wouldn’t mind the damage potential if it was a little easier to react to. A full travel skill can always get me out if it’s off cooldown, but running or dodge rolling is a gamble on if I will make it.

Have to disagree … Covenant of Dominions are quite easy to survive once you know the enemy and it’s abilities. I reckon I was only dying to them in my first 300-500hours of play, but in my more recent 250 hours of play I can’t recall having an issue :wink:
