Crashing my PC at Idle of Loathing

I’ve already searched for this topic in the forums and via google but unfortunately none of the solutions work for me. I’ve verified the steam game files, I’ve updated my graphics drivers, I’ve deleted my graphics ini file, I’ve pulled the plug on my headset, I’ve tried to stay right next to the Idol of Loathing, but not matter what I do: as soon as the blue lightning orb comes out it literally crashes my whole PC.

Would appreciate some help on this since I really like the game and would like to continue playing.

Okay, I’ve had a look at the player logs myself and apparently some files were missing. I’m not sure why verifying the game didn’t work for that but I’ve since de-installed, deleted all folders and re-installed the game and this worked. Even when casting the blue lightning balls it didn’t crash my PC.

Sorry for the forum bloat, but I wanted to refrain from downloading the game new again. I’m keeping this up since the player logs might be interesting to the devs/the solution for other players.
