Crash, Freeze, Disconnect Grace Period for Echos

Please? Can we please get a crash/dc grace period to log back in before the game fails our in progress echos?

Will someone maybe somehow exploit this? I don’t know. I don’t really care, honestly.

They really should change how disconnect works too. Like when your game gets too laggy, the enemies can still hit and chase you while you can’t even do anything. And most of the time when a disconnect happen during an echo progress, very high chance that your character died on something even the “lost connection” pop up was instant (like the game didn’t lag at all due to high latency or something), normally this should immediately logs you out but the game thinks you’re still ingame while being vulnerable, being bombarded by enemy attacks which you already have no control over your character of, even you’ve already pressed the “back to main menu” button.

I’m just not sure as to why when a disconnect happen, the echo you were doing counts as “failed” whether was it because of the situation i described above, or the game is coded in a way that if you left the area through different means other than town portal, that will count as a “failed” for that echo. I never tried leaving an echo by other means myself.

As for the topic, I would like something like this too tbh, even if EHG come up with a different way. Though surely someone will always find a way to abuse something… I don’t know if I’m using the right term, but maybe EHG should reduce the “request time out” significantly so the game doesn’t keep retrying to reconnect you, hopefully getting you out of “logged in” status much quicker, avoiding enemy hits and even possibly dying during the reconnect process. I could be wrong on this one tbh, someone correct me if I’m wrong.

It just feel bad to “die” on something because the game let you stay “logged in” for a moment after a disconnect and get bombarded to death.

But one thing is for sure, currently the disconnection problem and how the game handles it must be changed imo.

I agree, but I think this would be a big overhaul for them, they don’t even have map permanence during the campaign which to me feels really jarring. Most ARPGs will not reset the map for like ~10 minutes so you can port to town and vendor and what not. I know you are not complaining about the campaign here, but i think the root of the problem is the same, and i would also like to not fail an echo when i get disconnected
