Sometimes i am not able to put a new 4th affix onto an item that i am crafting even with the totally free 4th slot, is there some hidden rule that i am missing?
Is the item at zero crafting potential?
Once the crafting potential of an item reaches zero no more crafting may be done on the item, even with a rune of discovery that costs no potential.
I don’t know how long you have been playing Alex, but if you have items from before the affix rework several patches ago, you may not be able to add new affixes. I have a few items with 4 affixes, but in the crafting window, it only has 2. That is because the item has affixes on it that no longer exist in that spot.
