Crafted Items sometimes lose several percent of some affix roll over several days

For example I crafted a ring until I fractured it.
I clearly remember it having 28 dodge rating.
Next day (or maybe it’s tied to game starts/character loads?) I found my dodge rating is different. The ring has 27 now.
Next day I crafted a wand with T5 physical minion damage, and rolled 78%. Next day it dropped to 77%, and the day after to 76%.

Does anyone know what’s going on here?
Looks like some accumulating rounding errors, but why would the game read, round and reapply affix values on existing items?
Is this some kind of obscure game mechanic, like item damage? I doubt it.

If you notice that changes have cropped up between you opening the game client and the last time you played, could you post the log file to help us investigate this?

Couldn’t reproduce anything new so far. So just sharing my thoughts on the matter for now.

I’m not sure, but afair it happened only to items I was wearing/wielding while logging off. Happened with “minion physical damage” affix on at least two different weapons. And afair both items were not fractured at the time it happened. So maybe fracturing stops the process, but maybe it stops by itself after a few iterations.

Reproduced with a crafted shield. crafted block chance, and block protection, then fractured.
I then switched characters, to pass an item through the stash. Next time I loaded the character that had the shield, I noticed that block protection decreased from 355 to 353. Returned to character selection screen and re-loaded the character. The shield now had 351 block protection.
Then I gathered the game log: output_log.txt (1.1 MB)

I took the liberty to browse the log a bit. There are 2 suspicious crafting system crashes. Maybe they are to blame, who knows.

Reproduced again with a different shield. What was done:

  • Played with a character, crafted a shield. Fractured. Wrote down block protectoin value (354).
  • Exited the game
  • Started game again, loaded that character again. Protection value dropped to 353.

  • exited game
  • started game again, loaded the character. block protectoin dropped to 351.
  • uploaded game log: output_log.txt (51.7 KB)

Throwing damage on crafted (fractured) amulet has dropped from 149 to 147

Put the item into stash and logged the toon off, then re-loaded the toon and equipped the item back. re-logged again and there was no subsequent stat decrease. So at least there’s a workaround to prevent further loss.
