I have a mono corruption high-ish. I want a different timeline mono lower-ish to speed farm. So I use the catchup mechanic to bump it over 200 then run a few reduction monos to drop it as close as I can to where I want it, but it went a bit below where I wanna farm, So I just kill a Orobyss and bump it up a bit right? Nope… FORCING ALL bonus corruption if I kill him. Back to square one. Why is bonus FORCED at any Orobyss kill? What am I supposed to do here? Am I missing some mechanic? Is it supposed to be such a pain to use like the main system in the game?
The only Shade of Orobyss that gives you that much corruption is the one directly at the start.
The regular shades that are further out in the echo web give you way less corruption.
Hmmm, mine is showing the exact same corruption as the one at the start. Maybe I’m trying to be too granular?
Hope the below adds the screen shot…
Why “few”? You can lower multiple times after single fight vs Statues
Nope. Every SoO will give you a lot of corruption with 4+ gazes, like the whole difference max-current monolith and a bit over it
Currently, if you want to focus farm shades, you can select node in Weaver tree to stop corruption pump up
Purged Horizon node. Bottom left
Appreciate the responses. Ended up just killing SoO, pushed the corruption way back up, then dropped it down more where I wanted it. Paying more attention to not accidentally go lower than I intended originally.

You can use the weaver tree to prevent corruption from changing in the future. So you can keep killing the shade in that timeline and it won’t increase it anymore.
You’ll have to respec it out when you go back to increasing corruption, but I think that’s very cheap.
