Conversation about Warlock?

I did a search in the forum and only saw the conversation about being disappointed about the reveal (which made me stay away from trying to piece together what the warlock was about), but no actual conversation about the class itself. Is class/specialization discussion something that isn’t done here (the forums).

Can anyone point to a good place that is having a discussion about the Warlock? I’m on the fence about whether to return for 1.0 (def will return eventually, I’m thinking that waiting till 1.1+ might be a good idea, but I’m also interested in what the Warlock and CoF have to offer).

No, you can discuss whatever you want about classes here. There’s Ts & Cs for the forum but they’re fairly generic/to be expected (don’t be an arsehole & don’t talk about how to hack/edit the game).

Personally, I like the Warlock more than the Falconer. Curses are awesome, the new skills are awesome & look even moar awesomerer and the passive tree is interesting (& shiny & new).

From what I’ve seen on the reveal/LETools… :innocent:

I’m with you, the few screen shots I’ve seen of it looked really interesting (Falconer looks good, just not as good). I was just wondering if there was anyone talking about it, or there was a place that had the passive/skill tree I could look at. Will take a look at LETools, thank you.

LETools has that for both masteries in detail in the planner.

I still hope they don’t go live as they are in the planer. Falconers passive tree looks packed with a lot of defensive tools at first glance all the possible combinations and convertions look like the most tanky class might end up to be the falconer.

While I’m a fan of the Warlock and curses idea I have a feeling that the Lich will be the better Warlock if you don’t want to use the skills in the closed section of the tree. Then again I just try all masteries anyway so I’ll see how things work out in 1.0.

This is fantastic if you want to see skill trees etc.

I’m playing Lich, as closely as I can to Warlock this week. There are masses of defensive stuff in Warlock, and also Acolyte passives. My baby is only level 21 and is as tough as you could hope for. I was going Falconer, but have decided Warlock is far more resilient. I also love the vast amount of skills that proc other skills, looks a lot of fun.

That’s what grabbed my eye as well. Thanks for the vid-link!

It is, I’m sure…

Do you think so? I’m planning on starting 1.0 as Falconer but am a bit disappointed in the ehp numbers on LETools. I messed around with a Blade Dancer theorycraft last night and it had double the ehp and way more leech/LoH. I do like that Falconer essentially has three movement abilities though, plus not having to stop and deal dmg is a defensive layer in its own right
