I’m just going to pony off this thread for some of my controller feedback (I was using the steam controller).
The Pros:
- Movement felt really good. It was really fluid and felt better than the keyboard & mouse click to move experience.
- Melee is good. Both Harvest and flame reave felt pretty satisfying to use.
- “Select window wheel” performs very nicely (I think it’s missing the cosmetics window though).
Could use some love:
- Game menu UIs/character select are a pain to navigate. “Click” actions are locked to the A button. It would be nice to be able to rebind the interact key and for menu’s to be cycled via the joystick.
- Inventory and Crafting menu should have hotkeys available to move/equip/drop items quickly.
- Dialogue window could use an option to scroll between options with joystick.
- Picking up items and interacting with chests is a complete nightmare. It would be nice if there was a UI window that could be opened to cycle through nearby items that you can pick up. Possibly something that can be worked into the loot filter system when it is implemented.
- If you are using the controller and using the mouse instead of the right joystick it will make the cursor stutter. It will also change what hotkeys are displayed on the skillbar everytime you move the mouse or use a skill. (This would be the most effective way to use the steam controller otherwise).
- As mentioned here it would be nice to have an option for ranged skills to target where the player is looking rather than where the cursor is aimed.
- Aimed abilities, like teleport, are fairly frustrating to use. Unfortunately I can’t think of a way to make them feel nice on a controller.
