Connectivity issues

So yesterday I downloaded the patch and wanted to start playing. I can create a character but then I always get an error saying I lost the connection to the server. Can’t log into legacy chars either. I obviously figured it was some day 1 issue. But the problem remained and so I tried to use the hotspot from my mobile phone. It worked.

This made me realized that I hadn’t played LE since we moved and switched internet provider a few weeks back. Our internet is in general much better now and I have not had any issues playing games online. This is LE-specific. I read somewehre that LE uses some specific ports.

For context, I am from Germany and use Telekom and the Speedport Smart 4 router. Can anyone help me out here?

So, I did a complete reinstall, and was finally able to log in a character. Thought it was fixed, but turns out it was apparently random luck. Next ten tries I had the same issue. Then it did work one other time but connection was lost as soon as I tried to enter the next zone. This is really frustrating and I have no clue what to do about it.

To add even more context, someone in discord suggested I try and use a VPN. I did that and now I do not get the connection loss but the game goes to the loading screen for the zone (where I usually did not get before). However, it gets stuck there infinetly.

I just tried all other ARPGs and I can log in perfectly fine. This is really annoying and it would be super cool to get any kind of feedback from EHG. I have tried everything from updating drivers, reinstalling the game, rebooting pc, rebooting router.

That is sort of close to my problem but mine is even worse because I can’t play at all.
Obviously my ISP plays some role, because it works fine at work (tried there too) and via mobile hotspot, but it is by far the best amd most common ISP in Germany, any other game works fine online. I am about to give up on Cycle 3 :frowning:

So I eventually figured it out by myself. Tried a direct ethernet connection to the router. So apparently at has something to do with the WLAN router. I am using a repeater too. When I connect my phone to the wifi and then use it as a hotspot it works. So I am suspecting the repeater is the issue. I probably won’t bother figuring out the exact issue because I can just use ethernet connection once I have set it up for the whole house.

Still wanted to post this here in case others have the same issue. It is probably worth looking at by EHG nevertheless.
