How does “on hit while channeling work? Will this benefit base ailment procs for base GhostFlame skill? Or does this mean that only hits from other hit sources “while channeling” like the Stygian beams only? This is very confusing… also does it increase Cthonic Fissure souls chance to proc ailments while we are channeling or does it only apply to channeling skills? I feel like this and the new ‘Spine of Malatros’ tool tips are very unclear in their wording. Anyone have clarification?

It’s the item description for ‘Stygian Coal’ offhand unique. All 13 new uniques are listed and described on lastepochtools .com
But it is a bit unclear since channeling doesn’t apply a hit

That is not true.
It has nothing to do with channeling. Damage over Time is the thing that does not “hit”.

Naturally most skills that are channeled are Damage over Time, but not everything.
Also this would give all your triggered abilities that hit while you channel this additional on hit affects.

For the unique specifically I would guess that those beams might hit, we don’t know, but while you channel Drain Life there can be other things hitting like the Soul Blast from its skill tree.
