We have to wait for a companion who is down to finish dying before we can resummon. Its not always safe to revive the companion by standing on their corpse. For example, scorpion void spikes.
You can take the companion skill off your bar and then re-add it. This skips the dying process and lets you start the cooldown faster in order to resummon faster.
But I propose an improvement where there are 2 separate cooldowns for a companion:
The cooldown to use a companion’s skill. This does and will continue to persist thru death.
A resummon cooldown that would start as soon as a companion is down. If you have multiple wolves, it should work the way it currently does. Where you can still use howl while 1 of the wolves is dying. As soon as the wolf is completely dead, it will prompt you to resummon a missing wolf instead of howl. However, if all wolves are down, then it should start the resummon cooldown instead of waiting for them to finish dying.
This would help gameplay by allowing us to spend extra mana to have less waiting around.
Well you have several talents for companion rezzing if i remember correctly.
Some for faster rezzing and some that make the area required to stand in bigger.
Each class has it’s up and downsides, if you want instant rez minions, you should go Acolyte/Necromancer.
If you don’t micro your companions and let them die…
Personally i would like to see a mastery talent that makes your pet insta resummonable when knocked out / death. (if you don’t take this talent, it’s either rezzing them or kiting mobs till they are rezzable)
For wolf pet, it would be nice to see the “safety in numbers” ability point (or add a different ability point behind this) to also make it so you automaticly summon the max amount of wolves.
Sorry i meant that in 1 button press all your dead companions (but mainly wolves) are resummoned instead of 1 at a time (especially annoying while in town / out of combat)
That would also be a nice feature… but…
Currently if talented:
Primalist:
Ancient call - revival speed +5% (6 points possible) for 30% revive speed (also gives health)
Beastmaster:
Feline Bond - 10% increased revive range (8 points possible) for 80% increased revive range (also gives dodge)
The Chase - revival speed +5% (8 points possible) for 40% revive speed (also gives attack speed and movement speed)
It is alot of points but you can currently get 70% increased revive speed and 80% revive area
These make rezzing your companions pretty darn fast.
If you are companion based both of the revive speed talents are pretty decent (+60HP for you and 60% increased HP for your companion, and having a 32% attack and movement speed boost for your companion)
The revive area one also gives 80 dodge rating (160 if you take the 10 points in 100% increased dodge rating for you and your pet later in the tree).
to bypass this whole ordeal, you can simply remove the companion skill from your hotbar, then put it back on to instantly resummon the companion again, without trying to revive your companion, or invest into companion rivial modifers from skills, and passives. cheesey, I know… BUT SUPER EFFECTIVE, for the time being.
