Hey All,

I am new here. I am just here to say Hi!

I hope to be seen around more. :slightly_smiling_face:

Does any one have any helpful tips about the game for a newbie?

See you around!

Yeah, the one major tip:

Take your time with the game. Experience it for yourself and simply try to enjoy yourself!

Also, welcome to the community!

Hi, welcome to LE. Hope you have fun.

So, helpful tips would be:
-Check the in-game guide when you have doubts about something. The guide is usually pretty helpful.
-Don’t bother picking up every piece of gear to sell later. The way this game is made, you make a lot more gold by simply playing the game than by going back and selling stuff.
-Try to figure out what you want your build to do and build your filter accordingly. Having a good filter is a big help in figuring out what drops can be important or not.
-On your first character you might be starved early on for affixes to craft. So use Runes of Shatering to get the affixes you might need early on. But know that this stops being an issue for all the common affixes and soon you’ll only want to shatter the rarer ones.
-Don’t be afraid to spend affixes crafting your gear. Crafting is very simple in this game and it can help you a lot, even during the campaign. Don’t worry if you run out of shards, you’ll get plenty.
-Try to engage with the lizards that show up, and more importantly with the Nemesis. Nemesis have some great drops to help you gear up early on.
-Don’t be afraid to ask for help on the game chat. People are mostly helpful and usually someone will go out of their way to help you, even if you just need help killing a boss.
-You can look at all the classes and skills and try to find out what you want to play. If you want, you can look at them all, and their skill trees, here: https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/
-Your mastery choice is a permanent choice, so you should be aware of which one you want to play. But you don’t need to worry too much about making a mistake. Every mastery can get you to early empowered monoliths (early endgame) very easily. Even weak builds can manage this.
-The campaign is pretty easy. So don’t be afraid to experiment with skills. However, be aware that early on you will lose skill levels if you respec them. It’s not a big deal, you can still do the campaign fine that way (and later in endgame it will be even less of an issue), but be aware of this issue, since it’s a turnoff for some people.
-If you need to do some more damage early on, you can check the vendors for a good weapon with flat damage. Early on, flat damage is very important. Later on, it stops being so important since you have more sources of it.
-Having capped resistances isn’t as important as in other games. Due to the way resistance work in LE, 1% less resistance always means 1% more damage. So try to get some resistances but don’t stress too much about them until you finish the campaign. Each campaign chapter tends to have 2-3 different damage types (1 is always physical, it’s more important to raise that one), so you can simply craft those in your gear and it will carry you through that act.

The only real permanent choices you’ll be making are your class, your mastery and later your faction (CoF/MG), though the last one is only at act 9, so you have some time until you make it.
So, most of all, just have fun figuring things out.

Wow! Thank you they’re all very helpful! I am coming from POE2, what I’ve seen is this is an “easier” version haha, i’m very excited!

Looking forward to see my minions run around and hopefully get the multiple golem build

Once again I appreciate the tips!

The item that allows the golemancer build, Aaron’s Will, is very rare. Which means that if your objective is to make a build with it, you would do better joining MG (the trade faction), rather than CoF (the kinda SSF faction but not quite, because you can still group with others). Because you can find them for sale in the bazaar right away, whereas waiting for it to drop can take a while.

Welcome first of all.

Best tip possible… If you have any question use the ingame guide (Standart “G” iirc) most stuff is explained there. Outside of this… read what is oding what and look at the skill tags they show what is scaling with what. Outside of this… have fun and only look at guides once you understood the basics of the game ^^.

Great tips all and covered what I was going to say.

Only 1 correction:

The faction choice isn’t perm as you can change your faction. If you do change, you will lose all of the gains you made in it and if you change back you will have to earn it all back.

True. The penalty for switching is so great that I forgot you could actually do it (and I even did with one character at one point). But the option is there, so well pointed out. Thanks.

You loose the favour, you loose access to the rep & rank benefits until you chamge back but you don’t have to re-grind the rank/rep (just the favour).

As a reminder in general:

Favor is shared between all characters on the account and on the specific type of cycle. So if you farm up 20 million favor with 5 characters and decide to switch with your 6th… all the 20 million favor will be gone for all of them.

Extremely weird system.

Thank you all for the tips!

I will use all of these and hopefully be able to understand the game  im excited to build my minion build and with these tips it shouldnt be too hard finding out what to do next!

I feel very welcomed thank you!
