I am a huge fan of seeing different numbers for damage types in games, knowing and seeing their output is very pleasing! Lets say for instance, orange for fire, blue for cold, purple for void, and so on! So when I use an ability such as Sentinel’s Warpath, I see white numbers for the normal physical, purple from void nodes, and so on!

I like your suggestion but what if you have a weapon that give you flat melee cold dmg? Do you show 2 numbers for every hit?
There are so many more things that need to be considered
Is only the damage type shown, that has the highest portion? What if its 50/50?
Is that based on the output pre- or post-mitigation?
I think I generally like the idea, but I am almost certain that this isn’t as easy as it sounds.
Also this needs to be optional.

It could also merge the colors. I would also like this for all skills. Some weapons don’t have adaptive damage.
For that reason, I think a full combat log (with colours!) in chat window would be better than coloured numbers mid-screen. That we could turn on or off, obviously.
And yes, I am aware it has been suggested and discussed for years.
Ideally, yes! I’m sorry if it wasn’t stated before, but I do believe it should be optional. I really love it, I understand the “clutter” is a lot for some, but I for one want it!
I would like all damage types to be represented not just what takes majority, im not sure if adding a color filter to some numbers is a big ask ( I would not know, I have no input into game development), it just does what the game does now, but seperates your one number into the different damages that are happening.
