Hello readers. I have been playing this game a bunch. 450h total. 300h since 1.0. Lvl 99 Runemaster, 98 Warlock, 97 Druid, 97 Paladin and some 65+ Falc, MM and Necro.
I personally enjoy playing CoF, but I hit a hard wall in progression with finding Uniques from Bosses or even common ones with LP. With the gear that I have 300-400 is what I can comfortably do. Another issue that I’m having on my Runemaster is finding a T7 Scepter with Spell + Mana cost reduction. I had this in my loot filters since maybe 3 days into launch, on all my characters and I have never seen it. Thus to solve my mana issues I’m using skill slot to help with mana. Since I also leveled MG up to 7 or 8, I’m just now hitting rank 10 in CoF which doubles profecies loot. So, after farming hundres into a thousand Monos, without getting any upgrades in order to go further into corruption which also takes time to get there, I started feeling like either I give up because it wasnt fun anymor or I try Merchant’s guild and I did.
I started MG grind and at around rank 7 I started to dislike it a lot. Every T7 I got, very 1,2,3 LP Unique I got that wasnt for me (which I didnt get at that time since I was playing Lock) had m thinking I need to go to the traders later to see if I can sell something.
The experience I had trying to price items was very bad. My only comparison being PoE since I racked 4.5K hours in that game and their trading system made me be very excited for LE and not having to use 3rd party programs, millions of whispers unanswered, having to stop playing to sell an item and check a website for trades. My issues with LE trading atm.

Very tedious to price check items. On the UI you have the equipped item slot, so that forced me to put the selling item in that. The problem is, many builds use items that increase skills and if you remove them you lose the skills and have to re-apply them after you figure out which point it removed which is not always obvious.
Solution: Have a slot in the UI where you drop the item you want to sell without having to equip that item. -
Having to look for specific vendor to trade each and every since type of item in this game. That feels terrible. Having to run around and try and locate the correct vendor is not fun at all. The guy who sells belts, his icon on map reassembles the ring guy I made that mistake a few times. Very annoying system.
Solution: Have all the types of items as tabs on the trading UI. I rather click a tab than running around that place trying to find the right vendor. -
Item search is severely limited by the fact that I can only apply TIERS to 1 or all affix. I cannot for example look for an item with T6 or T7 Crit Multi, than chose minimum of T1 Necrotic Res, T1 Minion Health and so on. If I put all affixes that I want and chose T1 as minimum that will not show only me the ones that have T6+ Crit Multi. That is what I wanted. A T6+ Crit multi than whatever other tier of Necro res, etc. It will show me all items with those affixes, but it can be T6 Minion HP instead. I don’t want that.
Solution: Have the option to specify the minimum Tier for each individual affix. It would save so much time while trying to price check or find items to buy.
This one was the main reason I gave up on MG. I didn’t feel like spending so much time struggling to price an item or find something specific. Also the possibility to include ranges in the search. For example on a unique I want to see all items with certain affix above 75% range. Something like that.- Not as much of an issue but still something that could offer massive QoL. Having to go to the MG in order to price an item. An item drops that I think might be worth something. 2 options: I stash it till later or go check it out now. I stashed it. Laster at some point I go to MG and look at how many items I need to price and knowing how difficult it is to price check Exalts or Rares…I wanna quit the game right there. I have to spend 1h if not more running around vendor to vendor, battling the trading system to get an accurate value.

Buying restrictions as you rank up. Some other ppl mentioned this. When you’re in monos and you’re at the point where Exalts are the main thing you are looking for. Well you can’t buy 1 because it’s so far up the ranks. I guess it’s a way to balanced it vs CoF, but it feels out of place. You still have to sell stuff in order to buy whatever you need. Which means you need to play the game and find decent stuff worth selling. Than you have to go through the hassle of pricing that stuff which many ppl avoid and just place random prices. The solution… I don’t know. Remove the ranks restriction and let only limit be favor and gold? Make sure ppl are farming content before being able to trade items. I’m not to sure on this one.
P.S - I herd that Boss Unique drops are not affected by CoF perks. That hit me hard. MG and CoF have the same drop rate?
In conclusion. I enjoy the game. I desire more endgame diversity which I’m sure will come, but right now I’m at a point where I play CoF and keep farming hundreds of Monos and Bosses and after a few days I have nothing to show for. I feel like I should go MG in order to advance. So I did that once after swapping all kinds of gear to make the transition. After a week or so of MG I was missing the CoF and not having to look at every item and think if I can manage to squeeze some gold to be able to buy an upgrade. I realized that in order to get an upgrade I would have to find some good items to sell and I did find some LP3 Uniques, only to find out they were worthless . Crazy enough, I found an well rolled LP 3 Catalyst for my Runemaster in MG that didnt sell even though I undercut by 1.5M.
Now, I’m back in CoF farming and remembering why I went MG I tell myself. I have to go higher in the corruption. I’m farming in about 300-350 corruption atm, but you need better gear and time to get there. Thanks to those who had the patience to read this far. What are your thoughts on the matter?
