Client Update?

I see everyone getting the update via Steam, but nothing for client? Will the client get the update today?

With this update that means it will not be until much later so better go do something else for now. Thank you very much for this update.

Edit: This is also IMO unacceptable, both Steam & Client should be released at the same time for players to play. This is very upsetting and not sure who is in charge on making these kind of decisions, but they should be fired. Not everyone uses Steam!

That’s probably a technical issue where they don’t have the capacity to upload to two different platforms at the same time. I saw that it’s likea 6GB patch.

Not sure what happened but it’s good to know they’re working on it.
I agree to it being unacceptable but I wouldn’t want anyone fired over something somewhat minor. You never know what might have happened.

I understand its beta, but it really isn’t acceptable. If they do it now, they will do it on release. This is something that should be thought of and taken serious b/c you dont want to deal with it on actual release.

You’re assuming that nothing changes between now & release, given this is the largest patch they’ve put out with an entire new class, 2 masteries & 17 skills. And a new chat system.

If you could link what they communicated about this (the issues they had,) I would be much more excepting of the client not being updated, but IMO they only worried about getting steam up first and the client was an after thought as I am sure they have a higher place base on steam.

Again I am not upset, just disappointed and if they come out and communicate with the community on why the client took a bit longer I will understand, but if they do not then I will go off what I am thinking and express my views about it.

Fortunately or not, I had to leave the Steam client cause it was unforgivably slow in downloading, thus I changed to the standalone. Little did I know that the Kickstarter people (like myself) would take a back seat to the machinations of the likes of Steam. Yes, disappointed, but not distraught. This is Beta after all.
Just my $.02 and blowing off some Steam. :stuck_out_tongue:

I stopped using Steam years ago as it always messed with my computer and only use the clients of games. Yes it is beta, but it sucks watching streamers play and other people while you sit there waiting, waiting, and more waiting. I took a half day of work to play, but b/c of this by the time the client is up, my kids will be home from school and I will have to actually do adult stuff until kids are in bed. I am just at a lose of words.

Well one thing is for certain and possibly a boon: There will be bugs and a few more updates coming in the next several days. That will bring us all back to a level playing field, so to speak.

I am not worried about catching up, I just want to play the Rogue and see the new updates.

I would really like them to communicate on when the Client will be up. Having no communication on this is more upsetting than anything.
