Client doesn't kick players if there's a client/server mismatch

So I was happily running along and didn’t notice an update was pushed out over Steam.

What did happen though is when I went to Shatter some gear, it consumed my runes and didn’t grant any shards, as well as leaving the item intact. I figured maybe I just had an internet outage (thanks comcast) so I sent a message in chat and nothing happened. Exited and immediately patched on steam.

I had 4 runes of shattering when I started, I stopped with one left when I realized what was going on. Now having updated the game I see I have zero, so I have no real idea when the desync happened.

This was on the linux client, for what it’s worth. I had no problems completing the monolith I was in, it wasn’t until I went to shatter/sell that things went awry.
