Cinder strike bow conversion ***QUESTION***

I’m curious for cinder strike when it becomes a bow attack why does it keep the melee tag. This screams to me either visual bug or a case of being so off meta i made a wacko unforeseen issue.

I’ve tried equipping melee attack speed while it has both bow and melee scaling tags and it seems like i attack faster (as a bow attack), issue is i already attack so fast its hard to tell. I tried the best i can to control as many variables as i can and it seems like melee speed is helping my bow APS.

There’s the current set up. its just a hodgepodge old failed gear put on a tester.

Not sure what you mean by “it becomes a bow attack”. As far as I can tell (unless I missed something), you’re not converting or limiting anything on Cinder Strike. You’re just choosing to use a bow, but you could also just use a melee weapon. Thus, it keeps both tags.

As for melee/bow stats, I’d assume they only apply if you’re using the relevant weapon type. So melee attack speed would only help you if you equipped a melee weapon. But since they’re tags on the skill, it’s quite likely that all of them add up together, though I would think that’s either a bug or just an oversight of the devs.

if you look at imgur photo cinder strike has both bow and melee tag. it auto happens when u put on a bow i believe. And cinder strike now shoots an arrow to as far as at least the edge of the screen.

im dumb cinder strike always has bow and melee tag, still though melee attack speed on gloves seems to help the bow version attack speed.

Yeah, that was what I was going to point out next. It’s one of those rogue skills that has both tags all the time.

Letting melee stats help when using a bow seems like an oversight, but that would be because it has the tags. The only way to prevent it, given how the game currently works, would be to add/remove melee/bow tags depending on which weapon you’re using.
Then again, it’s not like it’s a broken skill this way anyway.
