I am theory crafting a build for the new Warlock tree of the Acolyte class.
I have some questions regarding how Chthonic Fissure and its passives interact with the Chaos Bolt skill.
More specifically, I am looking at the Chaotic Rupture passive of the Chtonic Fissure skill tree.
Here is the tooltip for the passive.
According to the tooltip, the Chaos Bolts that are replacing the Tormenting Spirits will scale based off the chaos bolt skill passive tree.
The second skill passive related to my confusion is Grim Tide which states that more necrotic damage will be applied to Chthonic Fissure and its ailments.
Chthonic Fissure is a skill that deals fire damage over time and casts tormenting spirits. Since there is no way to convert the Chthonic Fissure fire tag to a necrotic one, I’m assuming that the effect of the Grim Tide is applied to the Tormenting Spirits.
Therefore, my question is whether the Chaos Bolts that are replacing the Tormenting Spirits will also have the effect of Grim Tide applied to them or not.
