Chorus of the Anurok and Julra's Obsession interaction

Hi
What would happen if I put “Minion increased area for area skills” on Julra’s Obsession in relation to the unique efffect on Chorus of the Anurok?
Would it apply two times because of the “Stats on this item also apply to your minions” or would it still only apply one time because it applies already?

The stat on the glove would give them increased area because they’re your minions. It then gets transfered to your minions verbatim. Meaning that it would only increase area for minions of your minions.

The only way to get double dipping is if you have something like “Your cast speed also applies to minions” (usually at a reduced percentage), in which case, if you place cast speed there, they will get cast speed from your bonus and then cast speed as well from the gloves applying it to the minions.

Thanks for the reply but to me it looks like you didn’t read the effect on the helm. Or else I am not understanding your point

I don’t think I understand your question, then. The stats on the helmet make no difference. But let’s use both:

Helmet gives 45% increase area for minion area skills.
You then add “30% Minion area for minion area skills” to the gloves.

Your minions will have 75% increased area, and their minions (if any) will have 30% increased area. Does that clear it up?

DJ is correct here. If you are trying to double dip minion stats through stat transference, it doesn’t work.

It’s the same reason that putting minion damage on your weapon only applies once to forged weapons. Or putting minion health on your armor only applies once to manifest armor.

If you transfer a minion stat to a minion, that minion’s minions will get a buff and your minions get one copy of the stat as normal because they are a minion.

No double dipping minion stats.

The “summon Anurok” ability has this wording:
Anuroks are not affected by increased area of effect stats, but gain 3% more damage for each 1% increased Area of Effect for minion Area Skills".
So my idea was to add "increased area of effect " to julra Gloves and then the gloves does apply the stat to the minions also.
So if the area stat already apply to minions, and the gloves also makes it apply to minions, my question is if it would apply 2 times or just 1.

As explained, it would only apply once.

Mike can probably chime in if I’m wrong, but the way it works is that the minion will check its own internal “increased area” modifier and that’s the only thing that will apply.
Unless the skill specifically searches for “minion increased area” on your character.

The difference between both would be this:

–First case (checking for the minion’s increased area (IA)):
Placing 30% minion increased area (MIA) affix on gloves (any gloves) would set your character’s MIA at 30% and the Anurok’s IA at 30%. The Anuroks then check that value and apply it.
If it’s on Julra’s gloves, then both you and the Anurok would have both 30% MIA and 30% IA. But the skill only checks the Anurok’s IA so only 30% is applied.
If, on the other hand, you place a 30% IA affix on the gloves, then your character would have 30% IA and the Anurok would also have 30% IA. None would have MIA. So 30% is applied.

–Second case (checking for your MIA):
Again, 30% MIA in Julra’s will set your character to 30% MIA and the Anurok with 30% MIA. Skill checks your MIA, only 30% gets applied.
If you instead place 30% IA, both you and Anurok get 30% IA, skill checks for MIA, so 0% is applied.

So either it only applies once, or, in the second case, it can even not apply at all.
I’m not sure which one is used, but I’d bet it’s the first one. So using either MIA or IA will apply the bonus once to the Anurok.

No problem. Sometimes the way the game works can be a bit confusing, especially in situations like this or in the case of sub-skills being procced from skills, cast vs direct cast, etc.
Even I have some doubts sometimes, after a couple of years in LE.

So when you have a question and the guide doesn’t clarify it, or a search in the forums, just ask away. Someone will usually explain it.

If you want to gain extra damage with frogs from area affix and use said gloves then use the regular increased area(player). As it will transfer to the frogs and give them more damage from helm and way area works on frogs. I have a t7 minion area and t7 general area j-gloves and a 2nd set of t7 minion area and t7 shred. The double area one hits harder initially(echo clear gloves) and the one with shred ramps up and eventually frogs hit harder(boss clear). (Incoming dream /self brag) If I can ever reroll my exalt quad 7 glove imprint to have 7/7/7 with minion area/general area/armour shred I’ll try and slam it into my 3lp j-gloves)
