Charged Allies node doesn't change shock to frostbite with Biting Force

Biting Force inside Static Orbs says that all shock things in SO will refer to frostbite instead.

Charged Allies gives Shoch chance & effect to allies inside the AOE.

These are not converted to Frostbite.

Additionally Static Ground AOE gets a cold dot visual vfx, but the skill tag doesn’t change to cold.

Subskills such as Static Ground or Fissure from Smite don’t get converted when the main skill is converted to a different element but they do have their gfx changed.

I’ll check the other issue, but if you are standing on the Static Ground you should get the additional shock chance converted to frostbite chance though the shock effect wouldn’t be converted (since it’s not shock chance).

Is this just a visual tool-tip issue? Because it would be remarkably stupid if the freezing mist inflicts lightning damage.

The charged ground gives shock effect & chance as illustrated on the char sheet. So that is def a bug.

Sorry, I totally forgot to check this.

So, it’s working correctly to give you frostbite chance from the Charged Allies node (I was inflicting stacks of frostbite not shock while standing in the Charged Ground), but the character screen UI doesn’t update to take the Biting Forge node into account so the character screen still shows Shock chance/effectiveness while standing in Charged Ground.

That said, they have previously said that global ailment conversions (such as Mhaelin’s gloves’s bleed → ignite conversion) shouldn’t update the character screen which I think is totally wrong.

The shock effectiveness wouldn’t/shouldn’t be converted since the conversion node only converts shock chance not shock effectiveness.

And yes, given how Smite’s Fissure works with the void conversion (ie, graphical only) I’d expect Charged Ground to still do lightning damage, which, yes, is kinda silly but that’s how damage conversions work in LE.

I refuse to believe this is expected behavior. It’s total bollocks.

Damage conversion abilities need a completely overhaul. They are a total mess.

Fair enough, but that’s what happens with all the other conversion nodes, they only convert the skill itself, not any subskills.
