What was the decision making behind allowing only 5 Online Season Characters?
The most fun part of Last Epoch is figuring out new builds, it took me 4 hours played to reach the Character Limit.
The absolute minimum would be 15 imho to make 1 of each Subclass, but 5 is just a slap in the face.
I got two real life friends i exclusively play with that is already 2/5 slots gone.
Even if this season should only last 2-3 months, which i highly doubt, 5 Characters is way too low.
Hardcore gamers reach lvl 100 in 1-2 Days so those slots are gone in about 10 days.
For someone who likes to experiment its even worse. For example i wanted to play an Aftershock Beastmaster, and i love to min-max my leveling, so i needed those Idols beforehand. So i leveled a Character to Monos just to get those idols and then had to delete it since my slots are full.
Just feels extremely bad.

You can have up to 20 (maybe 25?) characters there isn’t a cap of 5 seasonal. How many legacy characters do you have?

Thanks, this is completely unintuitive. I would have not thought in 1 million years that Legacy and Season is shared…

It is in PoE and D3 as well & I’d assume it is in D4.

The character limit is per account. You can have 25 characters total (while online, offline you can have as many as you want). This is because of database space/performance.
Pretty much all online games have a character limit and it’s always across all modes.

Seems like a ripe opportunity for an MTX to let people raise the max character limit in increments of 10.

(looking for more ways to let us give EHG money)

That’s been suggested before. GGG does that.
EHG doesn’t like making MTX for in-game advantages, but character slots aren’t really an advantage. Players that would cry out at any P2W features are all mostly fine with this happening.
