Character selection UI remains on screen even if I join with a character

I played for about 1h30m before the new patch, then a bit more after it. I turned off the game, went to sleep, and when I came back there was another 4 GB patch. After this downloaded, the game became unplayable.

This is what happens:

I join, I pick a character, the game loads, and everything is white, but the “character select” UI hangs around. I can chat and move around, but I don’t really see what’s happening. Shortcuts don’t work (none of them, can’t click “escape” to enter the menu, can’t click skill keybinds).

I’m adding 3 screenshots. The 1st one is me creating a new character, where you can see the game, but the UI remains available. The 2nd one is me entering on an older character, the one I started playing on. The 3rd one is me going back to the newly created character, which reproduced the “white screen” bug. All screenshots were taken after a game restart (quit, start, screenshot, repeat). Adding log files as well.

Please let me know what I can do about this, if anything. This is an extremely horrible first day experience.

This is a known issue with a bugged character file. Could you upload it?

Hi, I managed to find out the location for save files, but I’m not sure which one of these is relevant. I have “1CHARACTERSLOT_BETA_1” and “_beta_2”, as well as those two again, but with “_temp” added to the end.

The _temp file is a backup, you want to sort the files by last saved date & upload the most recent one (assuming you’ve not played others since).

Thank you. Just tried uploading, but the file type is unsupported so the upload stopped alongside a warning (about the file not being supported). Is there some way to reset my game? I don’t mind deleting the characters, I just started playing and I don’t mind going from the start again.

Zip it then upload the zip file.

K. Here it is.

I believe we found the problem to this. Next hotfix should resolve this issue. If it doesn’t please report back in the same thread. Thanks.

I understand. Thank you. I will follow-up in case this persists.
