I would like to suggest two things:

  • Let us rename our characters.
  • Give us a choice to see our character names in-game, rather than the account name.

I think everyone is one of two kinds of player when it comes to naming characters. Both of which would benefit from being able to rename their character and to be able to see that name hovering above their character. Let me elaborate:

  • The Flavor Namer
    Unfortunately, at the moment, this player can’t even get the enjoyment of seeing “PoundBeefcake” or “ArcraxTheDestroyer” hovering above their character, as it’s currently defaulted to the player’s account name, regardless of which character they’re playing.

  • The Build Namer
    Tons of players like naming their character after the build they’re going for. Makes it easier to pick out at the character select screen too if you have a lot of characters. But lets say you decide to respec after putting some effort and levels into the character. It would be way easier to be able to rename the character than to make a new one. Especially for SSF players. It also makes it a little harder to quickly find the character in character-select.

^This! PoE finally added character renaming for free.
Charge us like 10 points for rename if needed, but let us rename our online characters.
It itches me to change their names every time I log in, I regret not following some naming standard for them when I made them in 0.9
