Character lost

Standalone client.
2 characters (58 druid “DT-” and 38 paladin “Terruce”).
Both from HC Solo “league” and can be searched in ladder.
Logged off after druid play.
Logging in 6h later and my paladin character lost.
p.s. no game crashes or smth else, no PC shutdown.

This shouldn’t be happening with the latest patch, but I’d say 2 things:

1. if you’re using the steam version and have cloud saves, check to see if there might be a backup (it’s not likely if you’ve launched and closed the game since, but it’s worth a shot).

2. Check your save folder
   (users/{yourname}/AppData/LocalLow/Eleventh Hour Games/Last Epoch/Save). There should be a XCHARACTERSLOT_BETA_X file for each of your characters (as well as a _temp)
   Make a copy of that first (I personally have a .bat file that I use to launch the game that makes an automatic backup of this folder myself) and see if you can find the character file that’s associated with yours and maybe try cloning/renaming the _temp or non _temp version of it. Also you can check to see if windows has an older version of the file (also not likely, but worth a shot)).

That’s what you can do now. otherwise, wait for a dev to see if they can help you out.
You might want to grab the Player.log and Player-prev.log files from the Last Epoch folder (from above) as well.

beta_1 and beta_2 and their _temp analogs are 1KB in size (5 bytes in real each).

p.s. 1 more thing that I’ve remembered:
Characters in character selection list always shows last played character first = If I’ve logged in paladin character and logged out - he will be 1st in list, If I logged in with druid, they swap positions and druid stand 1st in list after logout.

Okay, looking you up in the Ladder, I see three characters you have, a lvl 6 Primalist “Terruce” in HC, and the two you mentioned above in SSF Hardcore.

I assume you made the HC Terruce Primalist as your first character, and is probably the one associated with 1CHARACTERSLOT_BETA_1 or possibly as your second as 1CHARACTERSLOT_BETA_2. Is he also missing from your list? Did you recently delete him?

I ask this because the files should be 20+KB, so the 1KB makes me think there’s missing data (you could open them in notepad to see if there’s just like nothing there).

If the lvl 6 Terruce Primalist is also missing, I’m wondering if something might have happened to both because they have the same name.

At any rate, I have no more suggestions for your now unfortunately, and I think you’ll just have to wait to see if one of the devs can help you out.

Unfortunately I can’t do anything if both the main and temp files are affected. If you encounter any issues like this can you please upload both of your log files as soon as it happens? Very sorry about this!
