I feel that most people will agree with me on this, especially being as this game is online and you can interact with other people in game.
There needs to be character customization! Options for customization that I would like to see personally; Gender selection, Race selection (with stat variance and possibly additional abilities or passives based on selected class), Size/height/weight slider, hair styles, and possibly a tattoo’s/markings options set.
As for the race options, (some standard rpg, some not as common) I would like to see; Human, Dwarf, Wood Elf, High Elf, Dark Elf, Vampyr/Vampire, Giant, Halfling, Gnome, a Demon like race (maybe Incubus/Succubus), and any other standard races as well.
I hope this makes it’s way into the game as it makes sense for so many different reasons, and further more it adds an element to the game that would make the game far more interesting and desirable for more people to play. I know that, personally, on my list of requirements for me to buy/play an rpg, there must be some character customization options, I am sure that there others out there that are of the same ilk.
Thank you kindly for reading through this and I hope that development continues on smoothly!
I always like character customization in games. That said, this is no small amount of work you are asking for. As for races, the ones you’ve presented make absolutely zero sense in LE, they don’t exist in the setting. That said, having an Osprix or Nagasa character actually sounds kinda cool. That doesn’t even need char customization, it could be a new class.
Sorry to inform you buddy but this is never gonna happen.
You’re asking for absolutely insane amount of character customization for an ARPG, a genre in which classes not being gendered locked is new. The amount of customization you’re asking for is not even seen in most Classiscal RPGs .
Hell just having gender selection for classes will be an insane amount of work which the devs have hinted at something they wouldn’t mind doing after the game is completed and they have extra resources. So having different races, sizes, heights etc. Never gonna happen
There are numeous threads on the forum that address a lot of this. Many people want a variety of customizations for characters and I think most of it is not going to be implemented until the MTX for cosmetics happens. The first of which actually just dropped with the MP update (the backup reward.) I know it’s a small thing but I think it points to some cool cosmetics. If you haven’t seen the cosmetic character tab check it out because it can point to things they want to implement (like customizing the look of spell fx and skill fx!)
This one, on the other hand, is a bit baffling to me. None of this exists in the lore of the game, at least as worded, so this would mean an entire overhaul of the lore and I highly doubt that’ll ever happen. Now, if you want to suggest that you want to play a Void Forged I’d understand that.
I disagree completely. I would rather see them spend their time on real gameplay features than on frivolous cosmetic customization that you will never notice during gameplay.
Beware, times are changing…
I would have agreed with that a couple of years ago, but nowadays standards of the genre are evolving. Wolcen already had quite a bit of customisation, Undecember is pretty good in this respect, and Diablo 4 even much better.
Granted, all of them are human-only.
Anyway, I agree with other posters that it is a huge amount of work, and very low priority in my opinion.
But it does definetely give LE a “previous generation” feel when launching for the first time.
wolcen 3 years in release and have a TON of bugs, may be they need spend time not on fancy useless things like ‘hair size on red dwarf wich u never see coz of armor’, but on real problems?
That’s another important point.
The 3 games I mentioned all have extensive cut-scenes in which you actually get to see your character.
Without this kind of cut scenes, customisation would be rather pointless.
What you are asking for requires adjustments for all armor models.
I think D4 solved it pretty smart. You can customize your face, tatoos, colors etc., but the body type and height is fixed. That way you don’t need to adjust armor models. Something like this could also be considered for implementation.
The only change I’d like to have would be for gender selection (body tipe 1 and 2, maybe is better).
Especially hearing your character’s voice change.
For the rest of your feeback…it would be very nice but it would take so much time imo to add customization like that.
