I’ve always enjoyed the combat gameplay that the devs have designed for this game - requiring you to dodge/walk out of telegraphed attacks, positioning for potions, kiting monsters, etc.
But does anyone feel the same as I do, which is that it feels like character/combat animations feels a bit clunky for that gameplay? I’ve been playing a lot of my shield throw paladin this patch and that feeling never goes away and I was trying to figure what I thought was the issue. I’m not sure I’ve fully identified them. But I think what stood out to me was the casting animation of sigils of hope and sometimes, the start and stop animations of shield rush. At times also, I think the act of simply trying to walk but getting into collisions with mobs made the gameplay feel clunky.
Does anyone else feel the same way? Or find that there are aspects of character animations that give an overall feeling of clunkiness in manoeuvring your character?
I feel the clunciness when they stop, they make certain move that looks very weird and gives me a feeling of nonresponsivness if i try instantly to move again even though it is not true.
Yes, I initially also thought the stopping animation was a culprit. Because it is very obvious when you walk, and stop, there is this very protracted stopping animation where the character lean forward slightly, then back, before stopping. But I tested this in the middle of combat, and in town. There does seem to be proper motion cancelling animation so it doesnt seem like the stopping animation is part of the issue.
Ok, so we’re talking about the stopping action of the characters now, good. I do have an issue that, at least sometimes, when I need stop moving to attack or something that the character wants to finish moving to where my mouse pointer was before taking the attack action. This is sometimes very inconvenient.
Yeah it doesnt influence responsivness but it feels like it does of u know what i mean, running of characters as well feels very weird especialy acolites and the way she is holding her hands thats why i dont have any build from here.
Edited ou one more thing every char when touching some obsticle will stop to move this is frustrating to me
