Which is why we all signed the exact samw NDA. Streamers didnt have a different one
Yes, what I said.
But now as a streamer you’re simply barred from the CT, which is detrimental for the game as streamers are a group of people which by demand have the highest play-time and hence experience in the game, thus finding issues in a specific direction far far easier then others.
Still a bad decision hence, not good, badly planned, badly executed, not looked at competition how they do that (once more, seems prevalent with EHG) and hence it causes issues once more.
And the devs said in the CT discord is not intended to be an EA of the content coming. Which is what the CT eventuality turned into which is why i stopped even playing the ct builds. Hence why builds where solved the second the patches dropped. Hell these build guides where being lostes before thw patches even dropped
Havinf players play it like normal is early access not a testing realm. Which is what it was ment to be
Every CT does, which is what the respective NDA clauses are for.
If EHG can’t handle their clauses then that’s their problem. If it’s broken then monetary repercussions follow anyway and a barring from the game service possibly.
And really? I don’t really do much build creation… but even I only need 10 minutes to find out the optimal ways to build the builds I wanna play with the patch notes. The game is that simple still. Which is fine, it’s setup to be simpler then PoE after all for a good reason, but you can’t expect people to not have the brain to solve that when already pre-league the knowledgeable people related to their builds in PoE commonly tell you exactly what will or won’t work.
The builds guides before the patches? NDA breaks clearly, hence lotsa moolah for EHG. There’s really not a proper cost attached for EHG yet related to premature reveal related to builds. The patch notes are there to solve those things beforehand. Premature release of information though is against contract and hence has to be settled by law. If EHG doesn’t do that then they’re even more inept related to their program then I got the impression from their handling of it.
As for the testing realm: CT is meant to be played ‘normally’ to find out the things which would creep up in ‘normal’ play. Quality Assurance is there to test it in a more specified environment which can at times lack the circumstances which would be showcased in actual play. Hence why it’s done.
If EHG ever thought it to be something else then once again… their incompetence related to it and it would’ve needed to be communicated differently and handled differently. But it was not.
Well from my experience the CT programm isn’t working that flawless anyway. After I felt like noone cared about what was said in the forums and everyone was using the CT discord and things went missing I gave up on it and called it a day. Took them a complete test cycle the remove me though .
I hope this change helps the game but I can’t see how. Look at motivated CCs who deliver paragraphs of suggestions. Missing them might be kind of bad. It would maby help to get rid of inactive testers first and to maybe start a new recruitment cycle. Sure I don’t have the data to tell who is on and who isn’t and how they deliver feedback but my impression was that thee were the same 50 people all the time by 1k+ testers . A bit odd if you ask me but then again some dwindeling numbers are normal I guss.
Then why are they allowed to record stuff from the CT build & post it but we aren’t? By definition, the content creators are operating under different rules to the rest of the CTs.
And yet they’ve said that they want us to test the entire experience from lvl 1 to lvl 100, covering the early & mid game as much as the end game, xp gain, loot drops, everything. maybe it’s semantics & when they said that they just mean that they want people to give them feedback rather than just play it & not give feedback (which I imagine it was).
It’s been the same since the 0.8 CT.
Yeah, players need to give feedback, but no CT I’ve ever taken part in has given the CTs access to the dev tools. At best there might be xp & loot drop buffs (which was how the D3 PTR worked).
Go! go! go!
