This isn’t an NDA, this is removing content creators from the program altogether.
Thank you SO much!
Season 2 was absolutely amazing, but that point was one of my only gripe with it. Glad you guys are listening =)
I hope the QA will be top notch on S3 then
What i don’t understand is people complaining about lack of discoverability, but why are you reading/watching build guide in the first place ?
You can discoverability just play the game without prior info.
The only place i can see it as “mandatory”, is for race with build guide existing, like ziz s2 race, otherwise it should’n matter
There was always an NDA in place for all participants of the CT program.
But essentially just playing in the CT environment gives you knowledge and things to test before the live version. This is something you can’t “undo” or remove when the patch goes live.
I am interested to see what happens with some “content creators” that don’t do any form of guide content. I wouldn’t consider myself a content creator, just streaming the game regularly when new updates hit. I hope I can continue to contribute on the CT program, we will have to see.
Figuring out which thing proc’s which is not the game I want to play. I decided to not play POE2 on update launch until the build creators have had time to figure stuff out, and have had time to write guides. And then seasonal bug fixes kill their builds as I get into them. I haven’t played POE2 in a long time because by that time I have moved on to other things. I hope that is not the case for LE
So, someone who don’t want to be told what is out there shouldn’t be able to find out? What are you trying to solve here? People who want the bleeding edge discovery need to not watch videos of builds, what am I missing? This is a step into a strugglebus direction, I don’t like strugglebusses
Well you could just wait a few days till everything’s been worked out & guides/etc put out. What am I missing?
I wonder how much of an impact it really has on anything whatsoever…
Like, is people’s experience really spoiled by content creators doing their thing? What will this measure really accomplish?
I cannot imagine a situation where people would go all like “omg, it’s so terrible playing this game, because there’s so many game-guides”
If anything, I think this is generally bad… We need to expand on the CT program, not shrink and alienate it.
LMFAO, no.
The only thing left to do is make all new content season only.
or not letting them get access possibly.
the CT could be covered by friends & family, staff, raffles. Or depending on how the cashflow is they could hire (more) people for QA
The online community was never alienated your comparison makes no sense.
How many of those content creators do you think actually treated that as a volunteer QC job? How many of them do you think focused on testing mechanics interactions and skills, subskills, and subskill nodes for bugs and then filed detailed bug reports on them and how to reproduce them (if applicable)? Or did they just play the game, find overtuned stuff, and make content for their bottom line? At great expense to the longevity of the season.
Cool beans. Are we going to have a new wave of invites? I am retired & am eligible
Please don’t, there are players who want to play offline for the benefits it gives (pause) since that is the only viable way to play any game for them (need to stay alert irl). If you delay offline, then the game will be solved in online in the time offline is not released, so I still would have a solved game just a week later than anybody else.
at the beginning of each season, play offline first.
Removing content creators from Community Testing doesn’t solve anything as long as Offline mode exists with no delay, and there are 100s of unknown people in CT.
I think the majority of content creators would like this change because we want to be exploring the game with everyone else - IF it was an actual solution, but it’s NOT.
EHG can sound as confident as they want, but there is no policing DMs - things will be leaked. There will be copy-pastes of patch notes throughout CT, screenshares, screenshots, and content creators will use that to pinpoint the most broken things - you would be stupid not to, because you can be sure the others are. How can you realistically keep track of hundreds of testers?
The bottom line is, for everyone complaining about the game being solved, there is also a large amount of people that want strong and tested builds to play with, there will always be a demand for strategies and information. Otherwise, tier lists would not be popular. Content Creators aren’t going to just be asleep for Season 3.
Content Creator Season 3 looks like this - use a combination of patch notes and leaked information, find the best 2-3 builds, prep characters in Offline. If anyone asks what looks good to play for Season 3 tell them you have a feeling X or Y build is strong. Patch Drops, record videos for those builds in 2 hours with your Offline characters, post everything.

The truth is, the game feels solved right now, because LE is still undercooked from 1.0. EHG made good balance progress in this Season, but it needs more. The problem is, 5 or 6 builds feel so smooth, that when you play one and then try to theorycraft your own thing you get whiplash from the disparity.
Also, LE’s infinite scaling Corruption is another problem. In PoE, for example, your build does Red Maps, or it doesn’t do Red Maps. There are bossing builds, more advanced builds might clear faster. But, baseline you are looking for a build that does Red Maps.
What is the baseline in LE? There isn’t one. Because everyone playing Last Epoch is at the urinal, peeking at the build next to them to see if their Corruption is higher.

I’m not sure if EHG genuinely believes this is a solution or if they’re using Content Creators as a scapegoat for a quick and easy Reddit win.
If you want to promote discovery in a new Season, nuke CT down to 20, 30, 50 of the most trusted and prolific testers, and put a delay on new content to Offline and Legacy for a week or more.
Otherwise, this is all for show, and we will find ourselves back here next Season.
This is stupidity, you are encouraging players not to be truthful. Any content creator that wants CT access “WILL still get it” … this solves nothing although im sure many CT accounts may suddenly change locations Lol
Great change, honestly in the 36 replies it has right now, this affects a single person who commented, all other 35, are irrelevant, they are crying about something that doesnt affect them. If offilne was the only way to play the game, 99.999% of player base would still not make a single build for others to follow. This is sheep behavior. Good job EHG, the bla bla bla about offline, if you are not good, you wont find the best build the in first 3h of the game anyway. I read the patch notes and i know immediately whats good.
How does this change anything .? The same thing will happen but it will just be different players supplying the info. If ehg want change only way is zero CT, any other way the chances are they are still testing for content creators
