Changes to the Community Tester Program

They aren’t getting rid of the CT program, just not allowing content creators to create guides & videos using the CT builds.

I think they should do what the other arpgs do and make the new items and content season only. Sure you could test minor things on non season from balance but that helps a lot with that.

So when are we changing the game name to
Last Path of Epoch’s Exile

1000s of hours of bug testing given up for nothing

I was a community tester.
Specifically, how do i reapply?

I believe that this would solve a lot of the issues. However, instead of everyone playing new builds and experimenting we will just have everyone playing old builds that are tried and tested. People that want guides, will still look for a guide.

Oh alright CT players spoiling builds…
And why I’m thinking about falcon OP crap popping up every season?
Don’t ever trust falconers in CT if they’re talking about balance

This is a terrible idea. Offline players will have no incentive to come back to the game for new patches.

What % of the player base is playing offline? Can’t be very many. With that in mind you are saying let’s not solve a problem so we don’t alienate a very small portion of the community. Let’s instead continue to have the same problem while alienating a much larger portion of the community. Makes sense.

So that’s essentially an NDA for the CT Program? Honestly, doesn’t seem too bad in my opinion.

The race to get out “content” as fast and quick as possible has been bothering me personally in the past anyway. Any new hyped game comes up, you’ll have some “creator” uploading a video with a thumbnail of the final boss within the first 3 days.
Obviously, an early access like the CT Program would be misused for that purpose.

Thank you, EHG!

This isn’t an NDA, this is removing content creators from the program altogether.

Thank you SO much!
Season 2 was absolutely amazing, but that point was one of my only gripe with it. Glad you guys are listening =)

I hope the QA will be top notch on S3 then
What i don’t understand is people complaining about lack of discoverability, but why are you reading/watching build guide in the first place ?
You can discoverability just play the game without prior info.
The only place i can see it as “mandatory”, is for race with build guide existing, like ziz s2 race, otherwise it should’n matter

There was always an NDA in place for all participants of the CT program.

But essentially just playing in the CT environment gives you knowledge and things to test before the live version. This is something you can’t “undo” or remove when the patch goes live.

I am interested to see what happens with some “content creators” that don’t do any form of guide content. I wouldn’t consider myself a content creator, just streaming the game regularly when new updates hit. I hope I can continue to contribute on the CT program, we will have to see.

Figuring out which thing proc’s which is not the game I want to play. I decided to not play POE2 on update launch until the build creators have had time to figure stuff out, and have had time to write guides. And then seasonal bug fixes kill their builds as I get into them. I haven’t played POE2 in a long time because by that time I have moved on to other things. I hope that is not the case for LE

So, someone who don’t want to be told what is out there shouldn’t be able to find out? What are you trying to solve here? People who want the bleeding edge discovery need to not watch videos of builds, what am I missing? This is a step into a strugglebus direction, I don’t like strugglebusses

Well you could just wait a few days till everything’s been worked out & guides/etc put out. What am I missing?

I wonder how much of an impact it really has on anything whatsoever…
Like, is people’s experience really spoiled by content creators doing their thing? What will this measure really accomplish?
I cannot imagine a situation where people would go all like “omg, it’s so terrible playing this game, because there’s so many game-guides”

If anything, I think this is generally bad… We need to expand on the CT program, not shrink and alienate it.

The only thing left to do is make all new content season only.
