Champion affixes - Storm Champion Feedback

Hi all.
I’ve been having LOTS OF FUN playing this season.
A big contribution to this was that i’ve dropped a weapon with storm affix on sentinel level 16 and i just demolished campain a early monoliths with it.
Though i’ve got one observation and one question.
Base selected for this affix (One handed mace and two-handed spear) have got absolutely no support for:

  • damage over time;
  • throwing attack;
  • lightning damage;
    And this 3 fields are covering 100% of what’s needed for this build and unfortunatelly I’m afraid that when i’ll get to empowered monoliths there will be jsut no support in weapon slot for the build to grow. Thers a lot more interesting bases for this affix.
    Though tematically Spear should be a throwing weapon because of existance of “Javelin” skill but it’s not. It’s melee weapon so there is no synergy here.
    On the other hand for 1 handed weapon no brainer from me perspective would be sceptre. Wand would be 100% overkill, especially with base like COral wand that would absolutely abuse this affix but I would consider lowering % on storm affix and apply it to Sceptre one-handed base. For two-handers there is no weapon type that would support this build but Staff and this would be the same overkill as with wands so it’s out of the picture. (Meaning this affix is dead for two handers).

Also I’ve got a question about this affix. There is similar one on Sentinel Idols. Are those additive meaning can we have 20 smites in 2 seconds or are they excluding themselves and it’s still only 10 smites?

Btw. New weaver 1handed sword with electrify and damage over time leeach is MASSIVE.

That’s not true. Spears have their base damage added as throwing for Javelin, all weapons can get % increase DoT & % increased lightning damage, there is no % increased throwing damage affix anymore (apart from % increased phys throwing which is Rogue only).

It is, 'cause that’s how Javelin works.
