Challenge: one skill, one build - DPS Sigils

I recently proposed a challenge: give me a skill and I’ll use it to level a hero from 1 to around Abomination or level 60.

The first proposal I had from @Llama8 was “Sigils of Hope as a DPS skill”. Which sounds like a joke: Sigils is a buff spell and has one only way to deal DPS, with very low damage output. Therefore, challenge accepted.

Here’s the guy, after killing the Abomination and reaching wave 80 in the Arena. I stopped at 80 because it was becoming very dangerous. He was supposed to be a Void Knight but he changed his mind and became a Paladin.

And here’s how he’s built:

And now, I will either find a high DPS skill or more likely respec Sigils as a buff.

I must admit I “cheated” a bit: I unlocked my 5th specilization when defeating Liath and I did not use it. Sigils were meant to be the 5th skill. During the campaign, I used Juggernaut stance instead. But right after Lagon I switched to DPS Sigils, so the whole Fall of the Outcasts timeline and the whole 80 Arena waves were with the Sigil.

Nice buddy! But how was your experience? was it fun?

I have another challenge, if you are interested. It is nothing impossible or weird, but s bit niche and maybe not optimal:

Death Seal Golem Lich! Or maybe call it The Golem Bomber.

The main mechanic is to use Death Seal with Death Waves on your Golem.

I played that build a lot since Death Seal got implemented. It was an idea that came up during a Thyworm stream. It worked relatively well.

I played it to around 80 ish, but lost focus and interest a bit. Theres not that one super strong synergy, but a lot of different ways to get it working. It synergizes with poison and necrotic and I played a DoT Death Seal hybrid for a long time. You can also go low life. With all these different ways I tested, I ended up with not optimised gear and so its currently on hold.

I always wanted to create a build since I never saw a similar guide here.

So the challenge is using Death Seal as main damage skill cast on your Golem. Everything else is free.

:wink::v:

Yes!
It was the first time I finished the campaign without dying. I had already leveled a Paladin before, but only one and it was around the beginning, when I did not understand yet the mechanisms of the game.
Now that I know what to expect, how the passives work, how the skills work and the basics of synergies, I’ve been able to build something far more efficient than my first paladin. And to be honest, the campaign with the Paladin is the easy way. It’s one of the easiest classes to level, I would say.

Next challenge is Hungering Souls. That will be with a Lich. And I can respec her after to try your proposal. I did not remember you could cast Death Seal on a target, for me it was something coming out of the hero. I’ll see what I can do!
