Not sure if this is intended but I think not… certain abilities if you’re standing at the edge of Lagon’s platform (next to him) simply will not cast. I noticed it with devouring orb recently but I have also seen other abilities do this.
Your Devouring Orb is probably being cast on the ground of the arena where Lagon’s base is assuming you don’t have the node that makes them circle you.
This is a known issue. It’s a complicated fix, we are still determining how to go about a solution.
