Can't type in chat or be a part of it in any way

I am having the same issue as the one posted here: [Known Issue] Chat unreliability in Patch 0.7.3

I recently purchased the game and as I was testing options, I selected “Leave chat”, and now I cannot get chat to come back. I have tried to “Join Chat”, I logged in and out several times, I have enabled and disabled chat, I have tried everything, but no go. Help!

Chat seems to be borked at the moment.
