Verifying files in Steam fixed this twice today (never crashed before, but I updated nvidea drivers yesterday).
Seems like different reasons cause people wrote verifying doesn’t help them, so it worth trying it.
update: turns out I have to verify after every restart. Attaching my last Player.log from Last Epoch\Crashes\ just in case it can be usefull. Player.log (16.2 KB)
Half an hour trying to get the game to start. tried launching from location, verified files, restarted pc and ran as admin. game isn’t looking good especially since I have literally just bought it a couple days ago
If you submit using ingame report, it will send current and last sessions logs direct to the team.
Also, i believe there is a log (content_log.txt) generated by steam which indicates which files failed to verify. That would probably be super helpful for the devs.
I have the same issue as others. Segmentation fault when starting the game. It seems to randomly pass when I try again and again and again. I hope this gets fixed soon, I don’t think I’ll be playing much longer if I have to boot the game 30 times to get in every day.
can’t get into the game to submit an ingame report lol. Verified files come back all good no issues. Have uploaded player log like everybody else has though in previous post. Finally get home and go to try play it again today. 10 minutes can’t get in have just given up and uninstalled at this point. guess I will come back to it in a years time or so if it’s still a thing
I got tired of manually starting the game until it actually booted. I wrote a shell script that starts the game in a loop unless the process exits gracefully (you pressed Exit Game in the in-game menu).
Leaving it here, if it can be of use to others. You need git bash to run this on windows. The script assumes it’s placed in the same folder as the game’s .exe. Save it in plain text with a file extension of .sh (mine is called LaunchLastEpoch.sh)
The counter is not needed but I like to see how many clicks I saved using this instead of launching it manually every time it crashes. It usually takes around 5 tries to get the game to boot. My record is 34.
To everyone re-installing, you’re wasting your time. The files are fine. It just needs to be launched until it eventually makes it through.
I hope the devs fix this soon. It needs to be fixed before official launch at the latest.
yep still happening. i used to be able to get a launch every so often but i’m back to basically crashing on launch 100% of the time. tired of fresh installing everything every time just to make an attempt. someone please help lol
Same problem here. Unable to launch the game. Takes maybe 10-20 tries. My player.log looks similar to Freezer’s above with a bunch of: SymGetSymFromAddr64, GetLastError: ‘Attempt to access invalid address.’
I am wondering if this has something to do with the way this game handles (or doesn’t handle) dual monitors? Anywho… it’s pretty annoying.
In theory, yes. But just unplugging your monitors doesn’t get rid of a lot of PC/video card settings (outside of the game). It also looks like Garfunkel is on a single monitor setup with the same issues. So, no idea then… Sorry.
Please help me launch the game . I bought it yesterday. But I can 't even start it … UNITY error . I don’t have time to write it down, it disappears. It 's not for nothing that I bought the game . I tried to fix a lot of things, and what is written here, and what was written on other forums, nothing helped. On the game login screen, everything disappears and the game closes. Player.log (15.8 KB)
The problem is solved . The leg of the processor was bent . Fixed it , everything worked .
So, I’m not sure if this was fixed in the last patch or if my upgrading the CPU corrected this issue or not? Both happened around the same time. At any rate, I replaced my i5-6600 with an i7-7700k (everything else is the same, same MB, same 32GB ram, same GeForce 1080), and I haven’t had the issue since. Coincidence? Any rate, this is finally fixed for me… I think.
Seems like the latest patch 0.9.2L has fixed this issue. At least I 've tested a bit and was able to launch LE 10 times in a row without that Unity startup crash bug. Thanks
