Can't place Healing Totems next to Spires while using Controller

I am using Spriggan Form with Unbound Garden (including Summon Thorn Totem). When using game controller, I can’t place healing totems when I target one of the spires (one of the objective for clearing echo/monolith that shoot projectile at you from distance every couple of seconds).

I think I might have same problem right at the start of first Quest Echo for Fall of the Empire timeline, I don’t think I can place totems next to those eggs. But those die too fast, so I am not sure.

I can place totems next to the spires when using mouse and keyboard. Binding healing totem to every controller skill button did not help.

I can’t place totems while targeting enemy called Bone Cairn either.
