I was working in stash on idol regex, I was working in stash with only stout idols, though that hardly matters.
This didn’t work properly, /([5-9]|10).*on block/, as it matched also item with ‘12 health gain on block’ (and some ward).
So I edited /([5-9]|10).*on block/ and deleted 10 and had pressed backspace again, and then it hung. My guess is it somehow looped on /([5-9]|).*on block/. If I enter this regex again, it takes a few seconds before UI responds again.
But after doing above I could no longer pick up my awesome idols that I had discarded because they were crap. So no harm done…
I then dropped a cuckoo unique just to see how broken it was, and yes I could not pick that up again. Good thing for me I don’t have any clue how good those cuckoo items are…
Dear me, now that I then tried to log out, I couldn’t bring up menu with ESC, and after that I couldn’t walk. Everything elludes my dear Acolyte, except talking.
EDIT:
I can reproduce the slow UI but not the pickup problem. Entering the above will make UI hang but not kill pickup. Playing around with it and entering /(|).*on block/, makes it even slower, but didn’t kill pickup, nor main menu via ESC. If you have logs, know I just retried and had just produced the problem when I first wrote this post here, around 18:00 21.01.2026, CET time.
