As of 0.7.0b, I seem to be put into chat constantly (always?).
The Leave Chat option in the Escape menu doesn’t do anything either.

I’m also encountering this issue - Clicking the ‘Leave Chat’ option in the menu does not actually leave the chat.
Upon restarting the game client (to reduce the log size), I noticed that the very first time I select a character upon opening the client, I can indeed leave chat successfully. The issue presents itself after leaving game (not exiting, but returning to the ‘Welcome’ screen, generally to switch the character I’m playing). It doesn’t seem to matter if I log onto a different character or the same one - the second (and subsequent) time I load in (without completely exiting the client) I am unable to leave chat.
