Guys, you know this is a golden opportunity. PoE2 is on fire and people would love to come over to LE now.
GGG is slowly trying to douse some flames. Day by day we get patches and update posts that mitigate the damage. Yesterday they gaslit players about zones not being too large, but today they already acknowledged that 9 (!!) zones in act 3 have to be changed.
Strike back and don’t give them another 9 days 
I’m already afraid of some kind of “make PoE2 good” patch right after your release.
Release dates cost a lot, I mean a lot of money and resources to move. So LE already paid a hefty price to change. It’s not something you can willy nilly just move around.
PoE 2 isn’t going to change from the souls like Classic WoW grind they got going on right now. My build was minions (24 hours played) and while they did make some changes it’s still got to many problems to solve with not enough solutions. I also don’t have the energy to make or try new builds because of it’s Classic WoW feel and dont’ want to fight white mobs for another 30 hours to get somewhere.
Last Epoch now is in a great spot and they have Twitch drops set up for the 17, advertising and makerting set for that date. Not to mention people planning their vacations and free time. They will get a lot of tourist from PoE 2 because all the PoE 2 streamers by time the 17th has rolled around will have 100+ hours in done all their content.
So PoE 2 streamers will be playing Last Epoch many not all of them but enough to see the new content and that’s a lot of eyes on a very very different ARPG. That doesn’t have a lot of frustrations that PoE 2 has.
Everything will be fine as long as EHG makes sure the Last Epoch servers don’t explode and the launch is smooth.
Well that might be the sad reality, but I don’t think the PoE2 situation qualifies as “willy nilly”.
You may be right that GGG won’t be able (or willing) to fix enough within a week to warrant another move by EHG. Oh and don’t drag WoW Classic through the mud here

It does. EHG moved the date once which is an enormous undertaking. Lets be clear it doesn’t happen often because of the magnitude of doing it. Moving a launch date is the last thing you want to do and is something that is done when it’s critical. (what’s happening in PoE 2 or the vocal minority raging isn’t a critical event.)
April 17th is a perfect date right now. There isn’t an upside to launching earlier even if it could be done (which it can’t)
Again LE does have a golden opportunity to capitalize on though with a really good launch date now and extra time to make sure the servers and Season is ready. If anything they should be making sure bugs aren’t there and stress testing servers with the extra time. Now it’s all about execution. Whether LE succeeds is up to them, lets hope they don’t swing and miss like they did on launch.
