Currently the worst chase is certain builds requiring specific affixes on idols. Some of these are so rare, I’ve had to quit playing a specific character because they just won’t drop. I stopped counting at 500 idols without seeing a single one with even the affix I needed. If some of these affixes are that rare, then that should be the whole chase, getting the one you want. It doesn’t feel good.
I don’t really suggest you lose that chase completely, but idols should drop with 1 either prefix or suffix open and we should be able to use the shards from shattering or rune of removal to add the second affix of our choice. This keeps rarity as a thing to chase, but when you get it, you receive something fully usable. Considering you need 6-10 of them anyway, this doesn’t seem like a huge ask.
Another idea would be a woven echo where you can spend memory amber to reroll idol affixes or possibly an imprint slot to dump a stack of idols with affixes that match 1 of those on the imprint idol.
What I’m saying here is the pool is WAY to diluted, and there are certain things you can’t even do without certain idols. If I want to try some goofy off-meta meme build, the punishment should be that’s it’s NOT GOOD, not that I have to farm for a hundred hours just to discover it isn’t.
