Hello i know that devs are working to put multiplayer but i dont read the specific system they want to implement so i want to know
Is going to be a server system like diablo 2 battlenet servers or PoE? or is going to be avalible also LAN, host and client options?
i would prefer if we could have both obviously because having a lot of players in one stance like PoE i think it freeze my pc, so probably only would play with friends, maybe we could have as diablo 2 have, two types of characters, local ones and server ones, bc i know that sometimes LAN multiplayer end with cheating or things like that, but that doesn’t mean that LAN don’t have good things too that server sometimes cant provide for example if devs in the looong future decide to shut down the servers we lose any way to play with our friends
All we know is that it will be “server authoritative” like PoE/D3 and that they will also create an offline version as well after multiplayer has been released. I wouldn’t think that the offline versin would allow lan play but I don’t think that question has been asked (much).
thanks for the quick reply, i hate the Diablo 3 server system, but thats only because in pc you are forced to stay online to even play the game (the main reason i play diablo 3 on console), but since this game is going to have a offline version too, we dont have that flaw, anyway i think thay this choice as well as trade system one isnt as simple as a black and white choice as some players say, i think both are good and hope they implement something that gives us the better experience possible for both the players that want to play with any random player and the ones that prefer private parties with only our friends.
The think that i am most concerned is the “acuction house” not because is an auction house per se, but because is going to be a lobby full of players is gonna probably affect fps seriously in that zone, like what already happen in a lot of games that have the same kind of things.
I imagine, when they implement the bazaar as a own zone (which is the plan), there will be alot of different instances with a maximum player count, to not overload a single instance.
Really really. I mean, I’m not implementing it, so I can’t really know, and I don’t have experience in server’s for games and some of those complexities. It all depends on implementation, and the hardware they use – or they might use a service like Azure or AWS. We can’t really know.
