Can no longer start game

No idea what has occurred between the last time I started the game (Thursday morning) and just now but I can no longer start the game.

It gets to the character screen. I choose a character (tested on several of them) and after spinning a bit, I get this message, than it immediately crashes. Looks very similar to a previous bug that was reported.

I have attempted all of the usual supsects, checked drivers, verified files, restarts etc. To no avail.
These are the two final sessions of me trying to get it to work (six different attempts.)

been having the same problem here had to make a new character just for this to happen to it today

It cleared up for me after a few days. No idea what changed it. But this isn’t the first time it’s happened. My gut is that it’s something wonky between Steam and LE’s launcher, and EHG won’t have any say over Steam maybe fixing something.
